Job summary

Bay Area Hospital is seeking a Histology Technician (Full Time, Day Shift) to prepare histologic slides for microscopic examination by pathologists. You will maintain stains, reagents, and equipment, and assist with grossing and data entry in a busy laboratory.

The role requires CLIA-88 knowledge and ASCP registry or equivalent, with the ability to work in a team and handle confidential information. Salary is hourly with stable shifts in Laboratoty.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA-88 and state CAP/Joint Commission standards.
• ASCP histology registry or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare histologic slides for microscopic examination by pathologist.
• Maintain equipment and prepare reagents for tissue processing and staining.
• Receive and identify specimens from procedures and autopsy.
• Assist pathologist in grossing and specimen handling.
• Perform routine and special stains, frozen sections, embedding, microtomy.
• Maintain records and prepare reports as required.
