Qualifications

• ASCP BOC Histotechnician certification or equivalent HT credential.
• Associate degree with a combination of biology and chemistry credits.
• At least one year of histopathology laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures specimens are properly accessioned, labeled, and suitable for testing.
• Embeds tissue into paraffin blocks and prepares slides.
• Performs routine and special stains, quality control, and slide distribution.
• Assists pathologists during frozen section procedures.
• Ensures compliance with accrediting agency standards.
