Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks a Histology Supervisor for our Saint Francis Hospital Core Lab in Evanston, IL. This role leads histology operations, including specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and IHC, ensuring quality and on-time results.

Responsibilities include frontline leadership, coordinating daily activities, supervising staff, and maintaining regulatory compliance in a high-volume lab setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in histotechnology or related field.
• ASCP certification HT/HTL/CT preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years in anatomic pathology lab.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational and technical supervision of Histology services.
• Supervise staffing, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely, high-quality results.
• Ensure compliance, workflow efficiency, and support service delivery for surgical pathology.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in histotechnology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, or related field

ASCP certification: Histotechnician / Histotechnologist / Cytotechnologist

5 years of anatomic pathology laboratory experience
