Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in biological, chemical, or clinical laboratory science with histotechnology training.
• HT/ASCP Certification preferred or equivalent.
• Minimum hospital laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination including fixation, processing, embedding, and microtomy.
• Perform routine and special staining procedures according to established protocols.
• Assist with immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining and related procedures.
• Ensure proper specimen identification, labeling, and tracking throughout processing.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot histology equipment such as microtomes, processors, and stainers.
• Maintain safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance (CAP, CLIA, TJC).
• Support quality assurance, documentation, and turnaround time management.
