Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Histology Professional to join the team at Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS. Per Diem / As Needed schedule with responsibilities including tissue processing, slide preparation, IHC testing, and quality control.

Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in a chemical/biological science and 1 year of histology and IHC experience. Preferred candidates may have ASCP certification and higher-volume lab exposure.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science or Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of Immunohistochemistry (IHC) experience
• 1 year or more of histology experience

Responsibilities

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination
• Produce histology slides from embedded tissues using a microtome
• Perform immunohistochemical tests on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues
• Section, stain, and mount slides representing surgical specimens
• Maintain equipment and perform routine QC and documentation
• Adhere to lab SOPs and safety protocols and record results accurately
