Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, KS. Monday - Friday, 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM with rotating weekends and holidays.

The role performs routine and complex testing under SOPs, monitors instruments, and ensures accurate results to support patient care. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or MLS and at least 1 year of lab experience, with ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology

1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR MLS degree

ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
