Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Histology Laboratory Manager to oversee the administrative, technical, and fiscal operations of the department. The role includes staff development, budgeting, supply chain oversight, and revenue cycle management, with occasional travel to other sites.

The manager leads Supervisors, Histotechnicians, and Histotechnologists to sustain a high-performing lab, ensuring competency, SOP adherence, QA/QC, and efficient testing and reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience
• 7 years Clinical Laboratory experience
• Intermediate computer level

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and supervises administrative, technical, and fiscal aspects of the Histology Laboratory.
• Leads Supervisors, Histotechnicians, Histotechnologists to maintain high functioning department; manages performance appraisals and staff relations.
• Ensures SOPs, QA/QC, testing quality, and results reporting; sign-off on activities; develops guidelines and manuals.
