Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Capital Choice Pathology Lab in Silver Spring, MD seeks an experienced Histology Supervisor to oversee daily Anatomic Pathology operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive efficient workflow with timely reporting. The ideal candidate will supervise and mentor staff, manage staffing across shifts, and maintain QA records.

A BA/BS in a science field, HT(ASCP) certification, 1–3 years in a lead role, and 4–7 years in pathology are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science/health-related field required.
• 4–7 years in clinical laboratory experience with emphasis on anatomic pathology/histology.
• 1–3 years in a lead or supervisory role in anatomic pathology/histology.
• HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification required.
• Color vision testing is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Anatomic Pathology operations ensuring accurate testing and timely reporting.
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor staff across all shifts.
• Maintain QA records, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive process improvements.
• Provide regular coaching and feedback to direct reports.
• Assist with payroll, personnel records, and departmental administration.
