Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Supervisor, Histology to lead the day-to-day histology operations, ensure quality standards, and mentor staff. The role emphasizes collaboration with Pathology, QA, IT, and other teams to deliver timely, high-quality specimens for review and testing.

The position requires strong leadership, writing and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced lab environment. 4-day work weeks option may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in a scientific field.
• 6+ years of laboratory experience.
• Detailed knowledge of CAP, CLIA and NY regulations.
• Experience with LIMS and standard software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee histology lab operations and staff performance.
• Monitor test performance and quality control activities.
• Provide training and competency assessments for histology personnel.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address workflow issues.
• Write and review SOPs and related quality documents.
