Job summary

Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center seeks a experienced Histology Section Leader to drive day-to-day operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and supervise technical and support staff.

This role collaborates with hospital leadership, pathology, and clinical teams to deliver accurate diagnostic results. The incumbent will manage budgets, oversee HR processes, and maintain quality standards in a busy clinical histology lab, reporting to Laboratory Medicine leadership.

Qualifications

• Accredited Histology program completed.
• 5 years clinical work experience in an accredited Histology Laboratory.
• Bachelor's degree with four years clinical work experience; HT/HTL/QIHC (ASCP) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of the histology section, including the technical, financial, and human resource operations.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and act as liaison to laboratory administration, other hospital services, patients and clients.
• Oversee staffing, training, and performance management within the histology laboratory.
