Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in health information management with required coursework.
• One year of creditable experience in medical terminology and health records.
• Education/experience combinations per VA guidelines may apply.

Responsibilities

• Review and process requests for protected health information (PHI).
• Provide copies of PHI to the Veteran or authorized third parties.
• Educate requestors on requirements for submitting PHI requests.
• Validate authorization forms and track releases of information.
• Maintain the accounting of disclosure for all records released.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on release of information.
