Job summary

Southwest Healthcare seeks a System Manager of Health Information Management to lead the HIM/Medical Records department region-wide. You will ensure records are processed per bylaws, rules, and regulations and may assume interim duties in the System Director's absence.

You will oversee release of information, maintain discharge-related thresholds, and drive quality metrics above 95% while coordinating with regional staff and directors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management is required.
• Master's degree in Health Information Management is preferred.
• Five to seven years of HIM experience with emphasis on training, quality and record management.
• Minimum three years leadership experience in Health Information Management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain release of information standards per guidelines and regulations.
• Meet thresholds for medical record documentation within 4 days post discharge.
• Maintain regulatory thresholds for record deficiency by the 14th day post discharge.
• Prepare and present incomplete records to committee for action.
• Maintain thresholds for EMR documentation within 48 hours of discharge.
• Ensure quality and productivity standards exceed 95% for medical record processes.
