Job summary

National Jewish Health in Denver seeks a Health Information Management Specialist II to protect patient privacy and manage electronic health information, release of information, document imaging, and record management.

You will support HIPAA compliance, handle patient and provider requests, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with HIM staff to ensure timely, secure information exchange.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of office experience or 1 year healthcare setting required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; RHIA/RHIT credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process release of information and patient access requests in line with HIPAA and regulations.
• Review and prioritize medical record requests for timely fulfillment.
• Maintain electronic health records and support document imaging and indexing.
• Serve as a resource for patients, providers, attorneys and third-party requestors.
• Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
