The HIM Specialist position in Evansville, IN focuses on maintaining health record integrity through record analysis, deficiency monitoring, and registry maintenance to support treatment, continuity of care, reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and legal needs.

The role may involve retrieval, preparation, scanning, indexing and quality review of paper documents, and collaboration with HIM leadership to meet DNFB targets.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent. At least one-year experience in an office environment, preferably in a health care setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology desired
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, cloud and web-based functionality
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage variable responsibilities.
• Strong attention to details.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proficient use of standard office equipment such as copier, phones, computer, printer, fax machine, scanner.

Responsabilités

• Meets and/or exceeds productivity and quality standards.
• Performs specific areas of responsibility: record analysis, scanning/imaging, deficiency monitoring, EMR/data integrity, DNFB/DNFC assistance, registry maintenance, regulatory compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of the location and content of documents in LMR.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
