Lutheran Health System Serv in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking an HIM Technician responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of patient health records to support coding, reimbursement, chart completion, and regulatory compliance.

You will file and maintain records in the EHR, support audits and quality improvement, ensure HIPAA and JC compliance, and scan discharge documents within 24 hours, contributing to timely continuity of care.

Qualificações

• 0-1 years of experience in health information management or healthcare clerical support.
• Experience in document scanning, indexing, and EMR systems preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure accurate filing and maintenance of health records in the EHR system.
• Assist HIM leadership with operational reports, audits, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance documentation workflows.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission (JC), and facility policies, maintaining confidentiality and security of patient health information.
• Ensure all previous day discharges are received in HIM department the following discharge and follow the Discharge Reconciliation policy when records have not been obtained/received from the units.
• Ensure all received discharge records are prepped and scanned within 24 hours of discharge.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
