Job summary

Garnet Health Medical Center-Catskill is hiring an HIM Specialist to reconcile and index medical records, ensuring completeness and regulatory compliance. The role supports professional development and utilizes resources such as tuition reimbursement to advance your health information management career.

You will work within Garnet Health's health information management team, contributing to accurate recordkeeping and efficient hospital operations while serving a diverse patient community.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent; courses in medical terminology preferred.
• Minimum Experience: One year working in a HIM Department preferred; good organizational skills and knowledge of regulating agencies.
• Required Certification/Registration: None
• Physical Requirements: 80% sitting, 20% standing; ability to lift up to 25 lbs; able to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Reconciling receipt of medical records, preps, scans and indexes the charts.
• Review records for completeness and compliance with Hospital policies and accrediting standards.
• Support career growth, tuition reimbursement programs, and participate in a collaborative team environment.
