Job summary

CHI St. Gabriel's Health in Little Falls, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking an HIM Specialist to guard patient data and oversee the lifecycle of health records.

You will support clinical providers, ensuring regulatory compliance and privacy while handling complex workflows in a fast-paced environment. You will manage end-to-end medical records, including imaging, chart analysis, data integrity, and responding to information requests.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional HIM experience in acute care or similar setting.
• Progress toward RHIT/RHIA or enrollment in related program acceptable.
• Experience with EMR systems and HIM software applications.

Responsibilities

• Document Imaging: oversee imaging lifecycle including preparation, scanning, indexing and quality review.
• Chart Analysis: audit records for completeness and manage deficiencies per regulatory requirements.
• Data Integrity: maintain MPI accuracy by resolving duplicates and mismatches.
• Workflow Support: collaborate with providers to reconcile rejected orders and streamline completion.
• Release of Information: process ROI requests accurately with privacy standards.
• Compliance Oversight: support HIPAA and regulatory compliance within the department.
