Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a skilled HIM/Medical Records Specialist to classify and manage clinical documentation, supporting accurate coding and billing. You will work within the Epic system and OnBase workflows, ensuring timely chart completion and adherence to HIPAA requirements.

The role requires 1–2 years in healthcare, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication. This position is full-time, on-site with a standard 40-hour week and a Tuesday–Saturday schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years healthcare experience typical.
• Ability to work independently with strong critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Review and classify medical documentation for tests, treatments, procedures, and other services.
• Upload and process documents to Epic and health maintenance directives per state guidelines.
• Support coding and billing by obtaining and importing documentation via EHR work queues.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, policies, and regulations; collaborate across departments.
