Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years healthcare experience.
• Ability to learn Epic, OnBase, Solarity, and MS Office.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to protect PHI and comply with HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Analyze documentation needs and classify clinical documentation for tests, procedures, and services.
• Review and process documentation in Epic and Health Maintenance directives; abstract diabetic retinopathy components.
• Provide HIM and coding support to meet metrics and turnaround times; import docs to support billing.
• Ensure compliance with policies and state/federal regs (TJC, DNV, CMS).
• Collaborate with leaders, IT, coding, and HIM Optimization to resolve issues.
• Validate deficiencies and chart completion in EHR; notify clinicians of incomplete documentation.
• Verify presurgical H&Ps and other documents via OnBase queue and upload to EHR.
• Incorporate docs from various sources via workflows and routing to clinicians.
• Coordinate support activities; provide training to Epic Connect clinics for transition to EPIC.
