Advocate Health seeks a detail-oriented HIM professional to analyze clinical documentation and manage coding-related queries. You will review and upload health maintenance directives, ensuring accurate coding and smooth revenue cycle operations across Epic systems.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in healthcare, strong HIPAA knowledge, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with clinical and IT teams to improve processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of healthcare experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision using critical thinking.
• Proficient in Epic, OnBase, Solarity, Microsoft Office, and electronic platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication; attention to detail.
• Ability to safeguard PHI and understand HIPAA requirements.

Responsabilités

• Analyze and classify clinical documentation for tests, procedures, and services.
• Assign, edit, and track medical record deficiencies to support continuity of care, coding, and revenue cycle.
• Review, upload, and process Health Maintenance results and directives in Epic based on state guidelines.
• Support HIM and coding processes to meet performance metrics and turnaround times.
• Ensure compliance with policies, bylaws, and regulations (TJC, DNV, CMS).
• Collaborate with leaders and IT to identify and solve workflow issues.
• Validate chart completion and notify clinicians of incomplete documentation.
• Verify presurgical H&Ps and other documents in OnBase and upload to the EHR.
• Incorporate internal/external docs into EHR ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Coordinate training for Epic Connect clinics transitioning to EPIC.
