Job summary

UW Health is seeking a Health Information Management (HIM) Operational Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations and oversee all department activities. The role requires ensuring efficient workflows, QA, training, and ongoing education, while staying current on AI, compliance, and policy changes.

The position will collaborate with other teams to improve Patient Access and timely collection of outside medical records, and participate in enterprise committees.

Qualifications

• Minimum an Associate degree in a healthcare-related field.
• Two years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of day-to-day operations and oversight of all department activities.
• Ensure efficient and effective workflows, quality assurance, training, performance management, and continuing education activities.
• Serve as an expert Record Retrieval resource and stay informed about new technology and AI, compliance and policy changes.
• Collaborate with other teams and clinics to improve Patient Access and ensure timely collection of outside medical record information.
• Participate in enterprise-wide committees such as Legal Medical Record (LMR) and Medical Record Committee.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate departmental and organizational information.
