Job summary

The Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor at Good Samaritan Medical Center oversees daily operations of the HIM Department, ensuring accurate scanning, indexing, and timely availability of patient records in the EHR to support safe patient care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience in Health Information Management.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Experience using Epic.
• Experience with document imaging and indexing software required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the daily operations of the HIM Department.
• Plan, assign, and prioritize departmental workload to meet established turnaround times.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, train, coach, and mentor departmental employees.
• Monitor quality and accuracy of scanning and indexing.
• Collaborate with Epic analysts and Information Technology on workflows and system enhancements.
• Ensure departmental compliance with HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission and state/federal regulations.
• Partner with Revenue Cycle to ensure documentation is available for coding and billing.
