Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York seeks a Supervisor of Document Management to oversee day-to-day operations of center-led health information intake, scanning, indexing, classification, and reconciliation across hospitals and ambulatory locations.

You will lead a team of about 10–12 staff, manage workload, monitor productivity, and ensure accurate linkage of documents to patients and encounters in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and HIM experience may be considered.
• Minimum of three years in document management/imaging with at least one year in a lead role.
• RHIT or RHIA credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily Document Management operations and assigns, prioritizes, and redistributes work within and across queues and locations.
• Oversees receipt and tracking of paper and electronic documents from clinical departments, ambulatory practices, vendors, and interfaces.
• Directs document preparation, batching, scanning, indexing, and finalization in the EHR.
• Ensures each document is complete, correctly assigned, and available to authorized users within timeframes.
• Maintains audit trails and controls for correction, reclassification, and deletion workflows.
