Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Supervisor of Document Management to lead a 10–12 person team across multiple sites, ensuring accurate scanning, indexing, and reconciliation of patient documents within the electronic health record (EHR).

The role reports to the Manager of HIM Operations and requires strong supervision, workflow management, and a focus on privacy, retention, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced health information environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in HIM or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum of three years in document management/imaging/indexing/HIM; at least one year in a lead or supervisory role.
• RHIT or RHIA credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily Document Management operations and assigns, prioritizes, and redistributes work across queues and locations.
• Oversees receipt and tracking of documents from clinical departments, vendors, and interfaces.
• Directs document preparation, scanning, import, classification, indexing, and EHR finalization.
