Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Health Information Management Clerk to protect patient data and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record. You will prep, scan, index, and perform quality audits on medical records, ensuring timely completion and compliance with policies.

Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential. The role requires at least 2 years in a medical office setting or an AAS in HIM, and familiarity with Epic/OnBase is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of medical office experience or equivalent education (minimum of AAS in HIM).
• Strong knowledge of medical record formats.
• Ability to perform computer functions in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Detail‑oriented with high accuracy and good teamwork skills.
• Experience with Epic and OnBase preferred.

Responsibilities

• Capture paper records into OnBase and manage electronic images in Epic.
• Monitor scanning quality and maintain imaging systems.
• Handle MyChart and ROI work queues to support timely chart completion.
• Verify demographic accuracy and resolve physician/provider deficiencies.
• Ensure proper release of information in accordance with regulations.
