Job summary

Hartford HealthCare System HIM Department is seeking a Records Specialist to provide health information management support, including release of information, indexing and analysis of records to meet regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has 3 years of medical records experience, proficiency with Epic EHR and Excel, and a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

RHIT is preferred. On-site role based in Connecticut, with opportunities for professional growth within a large healthcare

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree preferred.
• Experience: 3 years medical records MPI, data integrity, document capture, record analysis or ROI.
• Epic EHR, MPI, Data Integrity, Document Capture, Excel experience required or preferred.
• RHIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides HIM support to comply with State, Federal and Regulatory requirements.
• Release of information, prepping, scanning, indexing and analyzing records timely and accurately.
• Must communicate effectively and work well with departments, staff and managers.
• Must be organized, flexible and a team player; manage time to meet deadlines.
