Job summary

Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Data Analyst to support Health Information Management processes. You will review discharge records, organize documentation, and ensure accurate data in the electronic medical record system.

The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, and teamwork within a cross-trained HIM team. Applicants should have a high school diploma, strong attention to detail, and the ability to learn Meditech and other EMR tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to learn electronic medical record systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently after training while contributing to a team.
• Previous healthcare, hospital, medical records or HIM experience preferred.
• Experience with Meditech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and processes inpatient discharge records to ensure documentation in EMR.
• Sorts and organizes inpatient documentation for scanning.
• Identifies documentation and scans records into Meditech EMR.
• Reviews documentation for completeness and proper placement.
• Maintains accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
• Assists with department phone calls and routes as appropriate.
• Participates in rotating fax day handling fax requests.
• Assists patients and visitors at the HIM department.
• Communicates with HIM and other departments regarding medical record needs.
• Works cross-trained to provide coverage as needed.
• Maintains HIPAA standards.
• Performs other HIM-related duties as assigned.
