Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Data Analyst to contribute to health information management by reviewing discharge records, organizing documentation, and ensuring accurate scanning into the Meditech EMR. The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance and teamwork within a cross-trained HIM department.

You will support the handling of patient information, assist with departmental communications, and participate in rotating tasks to maintain efficient, high-quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer proficiency required; ability to learn electronic medical record systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately organize and process medical record documentation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient discharge records to ensure documentation is in the EMR.
• Sort and organize inpatient medical record documentation for scanning.
• Identify and correctly scan records into the Meditech EMR system.
• Review documentation for completeness and proper placement in the patient record.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient information.
• Assist with department calls and provide courteous assistance as needed.
• Participate in the department's rotating fax day and daily duties.
• Assist patients and visitors in the HIM department.
• Communicate with HIM team and other hospital departments regarding medical record needs.
• Collaborate within a cross-trained HIM team and provide coverage as needed.
