Job summary

Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Health Information Analyst to join the HIM team. The selected candidate will perform quantitative analysis on discharged inpatients, same-day surgery, and observation charts in the EMR.

Deficiencies in Meditech will be assigned to physicians and other health care professionals. The role requires familiarity with release of information guidelines, state and federal regulations, and maintaining patient health information across formats.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
• Previous Health Information/Medical Office experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic/hybrid health information system preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal release of information/confidentiality guidelines.
• Knowledge of RAC, MAC, MIC, CERT and other payer/state/federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative analysis on discharged inpatients, same-day surgery, and observation charts in the EMR.
• Assign deficiencies in the Meditech system to physicians and other health care professionals.
• Retain, retrieve, and maintain patient health information in all formats.
• Expedite priority release of information to improve patient/provider satisfaction.
