Rochester Regional Health is seeking a HIM Ambulatory Specialist to maintain and secure medical records at the SCHI - Brighton site in Rochester, NY. You will process ROI requests, manage electronic and paper records, and support HIPAA-compliant information governance while delivering excellent customer service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HIM, business, IT or related field preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and document management.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and state/federal health information regulations.
• Strong computer, customer service and communication skills.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.

Responsabilités

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, providers and external partners.
• Process and track Release of Information (ROI) requests with HIPAA compliance.
• Handle incoming calls, mail, faxes, and electronic in-basket messages.
• Scan, index, quality check, and maintain electronic medical records.
• Manage paper records: retrieval, storage, retention and destruction.
• Ensure accuracy, security and accessibility of medical records.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve record issues.
• Support additional HIM functions as needed.
