Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a HIM Records Management Specialist to safeguard the integrity of scanned and indexed medical records. The role supports document storage, archiving, and destruction across Unity Hospital and United Memorial Medical Center.

Under the Manager of Document Lifecycle Management, you will perform quality checks, indexing, and data integrity audits while collaborating with vendors. Per diem schedule with day shifts and partial weekend work.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1-2+ years of experience in Health Information Management or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintains quality, accuracy, accessibility and security of medical records in paper and electronic systems.
• Prepares and scans records per department policies.
• Indexes scanned documents per policies and data integrity guidelines.
• Conducts quality checks and audits for accuracy and compliance.
• Reviews and corrects flagged documents per scanning policies.
• Collaborates with scanning/indexing vendor to fix errors.
• Provides cross-coverage support as needed.
