Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet, District 10, Lee County Unit in Beattyville, is seeking a Highway Technician Assistant II for maintenance duties. You will assist with basic engineering related tasks and operate light equipment under supervision.

This role requires a high school diploma, two years of highway maintenance experience or an associate degree substitution, a valid driver's license and a Class B CDL.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate.
Experience: Two years in construction or highway maintenance.
Substitution: Associate degree substitutes for two years of experience.
Licenses: Valid driver's license and Class B CDL required.
Must complete KYTC Highway Technician Academy Level 1 within one year.

Responsibilities

Assist with beginning level engineering related technical tasks.
Operate small single axle dump trucks.
Flag traffic for highway crew.
Assist in brush cutting and controlling operations around structures and highways.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance work on equipment.
Operate dump truck with snowplow and salt spreader.
