Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation in Muskingum County is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker 1 or Highway Technician 1 to help keep Ohio roads safe and well-maintained. The role offers full-time hours, daytime shifts, and benefits through OCSEA.

Selected candidates will work in District 5, with CDL training provided if needed and opportunities for career growth within the department. Pay ranges from $21.48 to $22.29 per hour depending on the classification.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Class B CDL with tanker endorsement.
• Experience with highway maintenance activities preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Serve the public and help make Ohio roads safer.
• Attend CDL licensure training if not already licensed.
• Perform highway maintenance activities including flagging, pothole patching, repair of guardrails and litter pickup.
• Perform snow and ice operations.
