Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation, Northwood Outpost, seeks a Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW 1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT 1) to serve the public and keep Ohio roads safe. You will train for CDL licensure if needed and perform flagging, pothole repair, guardrail work, litter pickup, mowing, and snow/ice operations.

Full-time union position with benefits including paid leave, holidays, a pension, and education support. Starting wages are $21.48/hr (HMW 1) or $22.29/hr (HT 1).

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic including addition/subtraction; reading, writing & speaking basic English.
• Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.

Responsibilities

• Serve the public and help make Ohio roads safer.
• Attend CDL licensure training if not already licensed.
• Perform highway maintenance tasks: flagging, pothole patching, guardrail repair, litter pickup, mowing.
• Perform snow and ice operations.
