Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation is seeking a Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) for District 06, Madison County, Ohio. The role includes performing highway maintenance tasks such as flagging, pothole patching, guardrail repairs, litter pickup, mowing, and snow/ice operations.

Training is provided to obtain a CDL license if not already held. Compensation starts at $21.48 per hour for HMW1 or $22.29 per hour for HT1, with a standard full-time schedule

Qualifications

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
Formal education in arithmetic that includes decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment.
Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.

Responsibilities

Operate highway maintenance activities including flagging, pothole patching, guardrail repair, litter pickup, mowing.
Perform snow & ice operations.
Attend training to obtain CDL licensure if not already licensed.
