Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Task Leader for highway design projects, based in one of our offices in Boston, East Hartford, or Manchester. You will lead and mentor a team, advancing technical excellence and delivering innovative transportation solutions for complex projects.

You will coordinate design development, collaborate with Project Managers, and ensure regulatory compliance while driving project success and client satisfaction. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
10 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the technical advancement of highway design projects.
Provide day-to-day oversight of transportation planning and design projects.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Develop project design criteria, alignments, construction plans, specifications and cost estimates.
Collaborate with project leaders to deliver high-complexity projects for clients.
Review designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; sign and seal designs as required.
