Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Task Leader for highway design projects in the New England region. Based in Boston, East Hartford, or Manchester, NH, you will lead technical delivery, mentor junior staff, and drive innovative solutions across complex transportation challenges.

You will oversee design development, coordinate with leaders and managers, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to proposals. Travel up to 10% may be required across offices and projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering; PE license is required.
10 years of related engineering experience; travel may be required.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the technical advancement of highway design projects.
Provide day-to-day oversight of transportation planning and design projects.
Supervise, review, and mentor junior engineers.
Develop project design criteria, alignments, and cost estimates.
Collaborate with Project Leaders and Project Managers to deliver complex projects.
Review draft designs for regulatory compliance and sign/seal as required.
Assist with proposals and respond to client RFPs.
