Job summary

San José State University seeks a Scheduling Analyst to support course scheduling, enrollment planning, space management, and related administrative processes within the College of Humanities and the Arts.

The role involves coordinating temporary faculty appointments, data provisioning to college leadership, and ensuring accurate records while safeguarding confidential information in a dynamic higher education environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent training.
• Administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to policy improvement or program development.
• BA/BS related to disciplines in the College or business.
• Four years’ administrative work coordinating complex activities in academic settings.
• Experience with MS Office for composing memos and analyzing spreadsheets.
• Experience with Google Apps for collaborative work assignments.
• Experience with PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP or similar enterprise systems.
• Experience cultivating cooperative, diverse working relationships within a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate temporary faculty appointments, reappointments, assigned time, salary verification, onboarding, and related documentation.
• Assist with development, entry, maintenance, and correction of class schedules, including room/faculty assignments, cancellations, and course additions.
• Provide enrollment, student success, faculty appointment, salary, and budget data to department chairs and college leadership.
• Manage department space requests, historical space-use data, lecture and laboratory assignments, and faculty office assignments.
• Interpret and apply university policies while maintaining accurate records and safeguarding confidential information.
