Job summary

Saber Power Services is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead on-site execution of high-voltage substation construction projects. You will oversee crews and subcontractors, ensure safety and quality, and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 5 years in substation construction with supervisory experience, reads complex drawings, and is OSHA 30 certified. Travel to remote sites will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in substation construction with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, one-lines, and schematics.
• OSHA 30 certification (required); CPR/First Aid preferred.
• Willingness to travel to remote job sites as needed.
• Experience with voltages from 34.5kV to 500kV preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction activities on substation projects from site prep to energization.
• Manage field crews and subcontractors performing civil, structural, and electrical substation work.
• Ensure all work complies with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Coordinate project logistics, material deliveries, inspections, and work sequencing.
• Monitor progress against project schedules and report updates to Project Manager.
• Conduct daily job site meetings and toolbox talks; enforce safety policies.
• Maintain accurate records including daily logs, RFIs, and quality control docs.
• Interface with engineers, project managers, utility representatives, and inspectors.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and utility standards.
• Assist with scheduling, workforce planning, equipment coordination, and material tracking.
