Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, is seeking a Substation Engineer for our Ruston, LA office. You will focus on substation design including wiring drawings and protection & control, with duties spanning from schematics to BOMs and field mark-ups.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and at least 1 year of substation experience, with travel and site work as needed. Join a team leveraging NEC/NESC/IEEE/ANSI standards for safe, reliable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• At least 1 year of substation design engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license may place you at Engineer or Project Engineer.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Create design documents and wiring diagrams for projects.
• Perform relay burden, lighting, load flow, and short circuit calculations.
• Apply engineering software for ground grid design and coordination studies.
• Coordinate with project engineer and clients to maintain schedule.
• Travel to job sites for training and project needs.
