Job summary

Sperry Rail Service is seeking a CDL Driver for a field-based, high-travel role across Eastern or Western US. You will operate hi-rail vehicles, support testing operations, and ensure DOT compliance while traveling for extended periods.

The role demands physical fitness, strong communication, and willingness to travel 3–4 months at a time. Pay starts at $21.60 per hour with per diem and travel accommodations.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively within assigned regions (3–4 months at a time)
• Operate hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars on roads and tracks
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT compliance
• Assist with rail flaw detection testing and data collection
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of vehicles and equipment
• Follow all safety policies and DOT/FRA regulations
• Communicate clearly with crew via radio and report safety concerns
