Job summary

Newark Public Schools seeks a Supervisor for the High School Leadership Team to lead college and career readiness initiatives across high schools. The position reports to the Assistant Superintendent of the High Schools and requires a Master's degree, NJ licenses, and significant teaching and administrative experience in a district

Qualifications

• Master's degree required or equivalent.
• NJ Principal/Supervisor license preferred; NJ Teacher Certificate required.
• Minimum 3 years district administration experience and 4 years teaching experience.
• Knowledge of NJ Student Learning Standards for curriculum and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Interact with high schools to advise on college and career readiness.
• Develop a graduating seniors data system with timelines and deadlines.
• Monitor college/tech school offers and assist with course selection and financial planning.
• Organize events and assemblies for college planning for families and students.
• Coordinate feeder school visits to promote early planning for college.
• Collaborate with district partners to ensure inclusive programs and equitable access to opportunities.
• Prepare budget and program plan for College and Career Programs.
• Identify job-market trends and tailor program opportunities for high-demand fields.
• Assist with district marketing and social media for programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of the High Schools.
