Job summary

KIPP Memphis Public Schools is seeking a Graduation Coach to support high school students in achieving graduation and post‑secondary goals. You will analyze data to identify at‑risk students, design individual and group plans, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and community partners to remove barriers to graduation.

The role emphasizes engagement strategies, transition support from middle to high school, and ongoing program evaluation to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field required; Master's preferred.
• Tennessee teaching certificate and/or school counseling leadership knowledge required.
• Five years of successful counseling/teaching experience required.
• Strong data analysis and Excel skills for data-driven planning.

Responsibilities

• Identify and counsel high school students at risk of dropping out and develop strategies to engage them.
• Develop and implement Engagement and Career plans with stakeholders.
• Monitor and adjust Plans each semester and coordinate with relevant parties.
• Provide training to teachers on support measures for at‑risk students.
• Develop credit recovery and alternative options with staff to meet needs of at-risk students.
• Create and execute intervention strategies to improve retention and graduation rates.
• Develop Transition Programs and Vertical Teams across middle and high schools.
• Lead quarterly vertical team meetings to improve student transition success.
• Collaborate with teachers and counselors to sustain the transition process for 8th graders and freshmen.
• Coordinate with parents/guardians and community organizations for support.
• Connect students and families with mentoring and community resources.
• Provide reports as scheduled and participate in ongoing professional development.
