Job summary

KIPP Memphis seeks a Graduation Coach to support high school students with graduation planning, data analysis, and collaboration among teachers, counselors, and families to keep learners on track.

You will develop Engagement and Career Plans, monitor progress each semester, and coordinate with staff and guardians to remove barriers to graduation. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related content area; Master’s preferred.
• Tennessee teaching certificate in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or Leadership.
• Minimum five years of counseling/teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and counsel high school students at risk of dropping out and engage them throughout their high school career.
• Develop Engagement and Career Plans for at-risk students with teachers, parents, and community partners.
• Review and adjust plans each semester in collaboration with relevant parties.
• Provide training and support to teachers on strategies for at-risk youth.
• Collaborate to develop credit recovery options and differentiated instruction.
• Implement interventions to increase graduation likelihood, including whole-school strategies.
• Develop Transition Programs and Vertical Teams between middle and high schools.
• Lead quarterly vertical team meetings to improve student transition outcomes.
• Coordinate with teachers, counselors, and advisors to sustain middle-to-high school transitions.
• Engage parents/guardians and community organizations to support students.
• Connect students and families with mentors and local programs.
• Support and outreach to families of at-risk students; report as required.
• Attend ongoing professional development and perform other duties as needed.
