Job summary

THE NEW STANDARD ACADEMY in Flint, MI is seeking a High School English Interventionist to provide targeted English Language Arts support for students who need extra help to meet grade-level standards.

You will plan and deliver small-group and one-on-one intervention lessons, reinforce reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and grammar skills, and align support with English curricula. Regular progress data will guide instructional decisions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in high school English language arts, including reading comprehension, writing instruction, grammar, and vocabulary development.
• Experience designing and implementing targeted academic interventions, progress monitoring, and using assessment data to inform instruction.
• Strong classroom management, student engagement, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to support diverse learners and varying skill levels.
• Proficient in lesson planning, curriculum alignment, and collaboration with general education and special education staff.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including clear documentation and regular communication with students, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to use educational technology and learning platforms to support instruction, track student progress, and enhance engagement.
