Job summary

The Swartz Creek Community School District seeks an experienced ELA teacher who is certified to teach in Michigan (BX 6-12) and highly qualified to provide targeted Tier 2 small-group instruction. The role emphasizes reading and writing instruction, data-driven planning, and collaboration with colleagues.

The ideal candidate will deliver explicit lessons, monitor progress, and participate in district-wide instructional initiatives, with a focus on student engagement and parent communication.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree and be highly qualified for Michigan teaching certification in ELA (BX 6-12).
• Candidate should demonstrate ability to deliver Tier 2 targeted small-group ELA instruction.
• Experience using diagnostic and progress monitoring data to inform instruction.
• READ 180 training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver explicit ELA lessons aligned to core instruction.
• Use diagnostic and progress monitoring data to identify student needs.
• Group students for targeted small-group instruction and adjust interventions.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to align interventions with goals.
• Participate in staff development and building-wide instructional improvements.
