Job summary

Wake Forest University Health Sciences seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide on-site medical coverage for collegiate and professional events, with emphasis on acute care, evaluation, and rehabilitation. The role supports the Sports Medicine Team and requires CAATE-accredited degree and BOC certification.

Licensed or eligible to practice Athletic Training within 30 days, with American Heart Association BLS CPR/AED training within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in athletic training from CAATE-accredited program.
• Current athletic training certification by the Board of Certification (BOC).
• Licensed or eligible for a State License in Athletic Training within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to complete American Heart Association BLS CPR & AED training within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training services at collegiate/professional events to meet departmental goals.
• Assist with event coverage as part of the Sports Medicine Team.
• Provide acute medical care on the field during practices or events.
• Perform clinical injury evaluation and rehab/conditioning planning.
• Maintain treatment logs, referrals, and medical inventory.
• Set up practices/games with medical supplies and equipment.
• Develop and implement treatment objectives and return-to-play standards.
