Job summary

South Washington County Schools is seeking a Special Education Flex Paraprofessional at East Ridge High School for 4 hours daily, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Starting pay is $22.70 per hour with potential $.50 bump for Highly Qualified status.

The role supports students under a licensed teacher, with ongoing data collection and behavioral management. Applicants must meet district qualifications, lift requirements up to 50 pounds, and demonstrate confidentiality and collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to meet District 833 Highly Qualified requirements.
• Competencies as required by State of Minnesota, Federal government, and/or District 833.
• Ability to reinforce math, reading, and writing skills in classrooms.
• Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Proven teamwork, confidentiality, and communication skills.
• Self-directed and able to organize small group reading and math activities.
• Pass Paraprofessional fitness for duty tests.
• Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
• CPR/First aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult daily with licensed special education teacher regarding daily responsibilities.
• Assist teacher in implementing district policies and procedures and classroom management.
• Assist students in reading, writing or math with adapted materials as directed.
• Support students with learning challenges or physical needs, including daily living tasks as needed.
• Accept changing assignments and new job tasks as required.
• Utilize behavioral management techniques and monitor student behavior.
• Collect and record student data as directed and communicate to staff.
• Provide services in alignment with teacher guidance and respect role boundaries.
• Maintain confidentiality with students, families, and staff.
• Participate in district-sponsored training when offered.
