Job summary

Castle Education in Scarborough is seeking High Needs Learning Support Assistants to help pupils with a range of special educational needs. Roles include 1:1 and small-group support across primary and secondary, with flexible ad-hoc, part-time and full-time opportunities.

Typical hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, with weekly pay and access to free training and CPD. Your work will involve helping pupils access learning, building confidence and supporting teachers and the wider team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and complex learning needs.
• Able to adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Support pupils to access and engage with learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Support pupils with additional and complex learning needs.
• Help pupils access and engage with learning.
• Support communication, independence and confidence.
• Adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Provide encouragement and reassurance.
• Work alongside teachers and other support staff.
• Support pupils across different Key Stages where required.
