Job summary

Whataburger is hiring a Restaurant Manager to lead a high-volume operation with a ~4M+ annual sales footprint and a large team. You’ll drive daily performance, culinary and service standards, and a culture of hospitality.

This role focuses on coaching people, optimizing labor and food costs, and advancing leadership pathways within the organization. You will report to the restaurant leadership team and will work onsite at your home restaurant, with opportunities to support neighboring locations

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred or equivalent experience.
• Be able to meet business needs and have open availability, including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours.
• Stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 55 lbs., and meet physical demands.
• Have 1–3 years of leadership experience.
• Possess ServSafe Food Manager Certification or ability to obtain during training.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain auto liability at required levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations to meet quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Champion hospitality and guest service standards by creating friendly, fast, authentic experiences.
• Coach, develop, and support team members to reach their full potential.
• Achieve restaurant goals across sales, labor, food cost, and profitability.
• Ensure food safety, workplace safety, and brand standards are upheld.
• Model Whataburger values and create a positive, inclusive work environment.
• Lead shift transitions and maintain smooth operations across day parts.
• Support talent development, training, and retention in partnership with leadership.
• Assist with business planning, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
